Adobe Flash Runs on Palm Pre

Apple may hate Adobe Flash, but the rest of the mobile world seems to have come to terms with the ubiquitous Web technology. We recently saw Flash running on aGoogle Nexus One and a Motorola Droid, and while it won't run on Windows Phone 7 Series at launch, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer said he has nothing against the technology.

Adobe's booth here at Mobile World Congress is running a bunch of Flash demos, including Flash on a Palm Pre. The implementation runs both video and games, and once the video or game is running, it runs smoothly - but getting there felt sluggish. The Palm presenter blamed it on a very slow Internet connection. But Flash on the Nexus One definitely loaded more quickly and felt snappier. We're still potentially several months from this Flash implementation going live, but at least they're coming along.

Astronauts Attach 'Room With a View' to Space Station

NASA astronauts have finished attaching a new observation deck to the International Space Station after fighting three jammed bolts and a stuck capture mechanism.

The 1.6-ton, $27 million Cupola observation deck is now attached to the station's new Tranquility module, a 24-foot-long room that's about the size of a small bus, according to Space.com.

The new, 10-foot-wide observation deck will give astronauts unprecedented panoramic views of Earth and space. It features a 31-inch round window in the center, flanked by six smaller windows. The ESA built both Tranquility and Cupola, and are NASA's last major pieces for the $100 billion ISS. (Image credit: NASA)

xbox 360 hard drives now in different colors

ooking for a way to give your Xbox 360 a little extra pizazz? While I’ve seen plenty of colorful Xbox 360 case replacements, I can’t say that I’ve come across much in the way of hard drive color mods. Until now.
Each kit also includes a bright set of LEDs beneath its surface, which illuminate with a touch of your fingertip. Keep in mind that it looks like all the LEDs are red, so that might look a little odd depending on the color you choose. I think white or color-coordinated LEDs would have been a much better move.

NEC have announced the launch of their new Supercomputer the NEC SX-9, which is reported to be the World’s mot powerful Supercomputer.

The SX-9 is capable of calculating 839 teraflops, or 839 trillion floating point operations per second.

“The SX-9 has been developed to meet the need for ultra-fast simulations of advanced and complex large-capacity scientific computing,” Yoshikazu Maruyama, senior vice president of NEC Corp., said in a statement.

NEC’s supercomputers are used in fields including advanced weather forecasting, aerospace and in large research institutes and companies.

The company said it has already sold more than 1,000 supercomputers in the SX series.

The SX-9 will first go on display at a supercomputing convention next month in Reno, Nevada.
