If you remember way back to earlier this year, Dell CEO Michael Dell first introduced the Dell Streak to the world when he was at the World Economic Forum in Davos and slipped the five-inch Android phone/tablet out of his pocket and showed it to blogging kingmaker Michael Arrington. Now, Dell has pulled another tablet out of his pocket. This one is seven-inches

At an Oracle Conference in San Francisco today, Michael Dell was talking and took out a seven-inch Android tablet, introducing it to the world. Unfortunately, there haven’t been any pictures of the tablet, nor any specs, nor any release dates. When the Wall Street Journal asked Dell (the company, not the man) PR for further comment, they declined to respond.

For any regular reader of tech blogs, this shouldn’t be news. This summer, before the Dell Streak was released, the general manager of Dell’s Streak project confirmed that Dell was looking at offering a wide variety of tablet sizes, ranging from five- to ten- inches.

We can’t help but feel that the recent unveiling of the Galaxy Tab has something to do with Dell’s impromptu product unveiling. The Dell Streak was built up in the press as the Android tablet to beat, until AT&T started selling it with a required voice plan and somehow it just became a big phone. The Galaxy Tab is seemingly taking the Streak’s place as the Android tablet, and it looks like Dell wants to throw their hat back into the ring.

Dell (the man, not the company) also announced that the five-inch Dell Streak will soon be sold in Best Buy stores. With or without an AT&T service contract, he didn’t say.
