The internet is in a tizzy this week, with rumours flying that Apple’s iOS4.2 update will land tomorrow. In what looks like a move to upstage Google, the update is expected to arrive just after Android’s Gingerbread OS upgrade hits Googlephones.

An unnamed source (why are they always without a name these sources) from AT&T in the US toldMacStories that the new iOS update will be available on Friday 12th November, 10PM UAE time.

And there’s more to support the soon-to-be-launched update, Apple sent out an email to developers promising “iOS 4.2 will soon be in the hands of millions of customers”.

The update will bring multitasking and Game Center to the iPad. It will also include a fix to the iPhone’s daylight-saving time alarm issues.
