Sony Corporation has announced its first ever CMOS image sensor in its Exmor series, with a Super 35-equivalent frame size and individual sensors four times the area of CMOS image sensors on on-market TV cameras today.

Sony also announced its first cinema camcorder with its new CMOS sensor onboard, the PMW-F3. The camcorder accepts PL mount lenses, the most popular lens mount in the 35mm film movie industry; Sony intend to release it on the 1st of February in with-lens (2,205K JPY) and without-lens (1,522.5K JPY) packages.
